COURSE OVERVIEWS
ESOL
Ross ESOL Summer Program is designed to develop, improve, and strengthen students' social and academic English skills by exploring a variety of topics and subjects while having a lot of fun! Through reading short stories, learning about world history, practicing presentation skills, and discovering passion for nature and art, students not only learn how to express their ideas verbally or write academic essays, but also how to think critically, communicate effectively, and prepare for standardized exams such as Duolingo and TOEFL.
All the learning materials are differentiated, modified, and scaffolded to meet each student's needs and goals. The class is taught by the head ESOL instructor at Ross School.
STEM/Art
Our STEM and Art program offers a fun and educational summer adventure! In STEM, explore the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on activities including design, 3D printing, woodworking, electronics soldering, coding, and artificial intelligence.
Working in tandem, the Art class will explore drawing, mixed-media, watercolor/painting, sculpture, and a range of other artistic media. Guided by experienced instructors, students will have the opportunity to learn and explore together in a relaxed and engaging environment.
Make this summer memorable with a focus on STEM and Art explorations.
Tennis
From specialized U10 programs with orange and green dot balls designed for developing competitive tennis players to our high-performance training with live ball drills and match play series, this summer program is our most intense and complete junior tennis education offered. Players considering this program should be serious about their commitment to tennis, consistently practicing at least two days per week year-round.
Mornings include drills, technical development and conditioning, working with Ross Tennis Center Director Vinicius Carmo on the skill of the day (SOD), as well as open environment drills (rally, live ball, point play situations), and mental toughness training, while afternoons focus on point situation and match-play.
Tryouts are required (videos accepted).

Boarding Houses
Ross boarding houses are spacious, beautiful, and luxurious Hamptons-style homes. Houses are designed to make students feel at home, with spacious bedrooms, private bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, study rooms, and laundry facilities. Homes are air-conditioned, and most have swimming pools available for students’ entertainment.
Each boarding house is overseen by house parents who are responsible for students’ safety and well-being and create a safe, welcoming, family-style living environment. House parents have extensive experience with teenagers and establish supportive relationships with students in their “home away from home.” They also connect with students’ parents to keep them apprised of their children’s well-being.
Facilities
Summer Boarding students enjoy a multitude of world-class facilities on the Ross School campus. Professional tennis courts, a weight room, and playing fields appeal to athletes, while extensive libraries, stunning architecture, and ubiquitous artwork nurture the aesthetic senses. STEM students carry out their work in specialized, state-of-the-art laboratories, and students pursuing visual and performing arts have access to a variety of studios with technical equipment. All buildings are air-conditioned, providing a welcome respite from the warmth of summer.
Dining
Summer Boarding students are served breakfast, lunch, and dinner from the exemplary Ross Café. Meals are nutritious and flavorful, and are prepared using fresh, regional, organic ingredients. Meals include vegetarian options, and accommodations for other dietary requirements are available as well. On weekends, students enjoy the many culinary delights of the Hamptons, and there are frequent backyard barbecues, picnics on the beach, and other culinary festivities.
Safety and Security
The security of our students and faculty is of utmost importance. Our boarding houses and campus are located in a sophisticated small town and are watched over by a well-trained security staff. A full-time nurse is situated on campus, and we have established relationships with a nearby pediatrician and hospital.
