Alumni News: Lilah Yektai, Class of 2021: A Rising Star in the Art World

Lilah Yektai ’21 is making her mark in the art world with a number of recent exhibitions and accolades. Currently a senior at RISD, she has been selected for the prestigious senior art show opening April 10 at the school's Woods-Gerry Gallery. Previously, she was invited to participate in RISD’s Textiles Triennial, a show of student textile work from the past three years. In the fall, Lilah was invited by NYC gallery Blanco to participate in Polytopo, a groundbreaking art event held in a historic marble quarry in Athens. Collaborating with fellow artist Joanna van Son, she created site-specific paintings that blended contemporary expression with the quarry’s ancient beauty. Their works were later featured in an exclusive pop-up exhibition in Athens.

In November, Lilah received an Honorable Mention—one of just six awards—at Guild Hall's 85th Artist Members Exhibition. Coming up, Lilah’s work, which merges textile and painting, will be included in Providence Art Club's 4th Annual Community Invitational Exhibition. Learn more.
