Balancing Discovery and Depth

Our summer program for campers ages 6–12 is organized into two distinct parts, Morning Majors and Afternoon Choice—each designed to create the perfect balance of focus and flexibility.

MORNING MAJORS: 9:15 am–12:00 pm

Each morning, campers dive into their chosen “major,” selecting from five exciting options (STEM/Robotics, Fashion Design, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Naturalist Explorers) designed to let them explore their passions and develop new skills.

  • Campers explore the exciting world of engineering, coding, and robotics using the Vex Robotics system. They design, build, and program robots to tackle hands-on challenges that spark creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork.

    • Build & Code: Campers bring robots to life by mastering engineering and coding fundamentals.

    • Problem-Solving: Engaging challenges inspire innovation and quick thinking.

    • Teamwork & Competitions: Collaborate, compete, and develop leadership skills through team challenges.

  • Our Visual Arts Program invites campers to explore their creativity and express themselves across a wide array of artistic media. From painting and drawing to sculpting, every camper is encouraged to find their artistic voice and bring their imagination to life.

    • Diverse Mediums: Campers experiment with painting, drawing, clay modeling, printmaking, collage, and fashion design, learning techniques that inspire confidence and artistic growth.

    • Collaborative Projects: Group art installations and collaborative pieces teach teamwork, cooperation, and the power of collective creativity, making art a shared experience.

    • Art History and Inspiration: Campers are introduced to various artistic styles, movements, and famous works to spark inspiration and deepen their appreciation for art.

    • Hands-On Workshops: Through guided workshops, campers gain skills in techniques like shading, color mixing, sculpting, and digital art.

    • Exhibition and Display: Campers proudly showcase their creations in an end-of-session art exhibit, celebrating their creativity and hard work.

  • Campers step into the world of fashion and bring their creative visions to life!

    • Learn the basics of hand sewing and machine stitching in a fun, supportive environment.

    • Experiment with fabrics, colors, and patterns to design original clothing and accessories.

    • Work with dress forms to understand how garments are shaped and fitted.

    • Explore sketching and fashion illustration to plan and refine their designs.

    • Showcase their creations in a festive end-of-week fashion show for friends and family.

  • Our Performing Arts Program empowers campers to express themselves through music, dance, drama, public speaking, and even filmmaking and editing. Campers build confidence and creativity, working both individually and in groups to create memorable performances and projects.

    • Music, Movement, and Drama: Campers explore singing, instrumentals, choreography, and acting, developing skills and having fun.

    • Film Making and Editing: Dive into storytelling through film, from scripting and acting to filming and editing projects.

    • Public Speaking: Build confidence and communication skills through exercises that make presenting fun and impactful.

    • Showcase Performances: Campers’ hard work shines in performances that celebrate their creativity and growth.

  • Dive into the wonders of nature with the Naturalist Explorers program! Campers will get hands-on with the local flora and fauna on our beautiful Ross campus—hiking scenic trails, observing wildlife, collecting specimens, and recording their adventures in personalized journals filled with sketches, reflections, and discoveries.

    • In the Ross Garden, campers will immerse themselves in the cycles of plant life—learning to plant, nurture, and watch their own seeds grow. Daily explorations blend garden care with guided observations of birds, insects, and other natural habitats. Engaging experiments in the lab will ignite scientific curiosity, allowing young minds to explore the chemistry and biology that underpin the natural world around them.

AFTERNOON CHOICE: 1:15–2:30 pm

Afternoons are a time for discovery and pure fun, as campers move freely through a rotating selection of adventures, from karaoke, bracelet making, and open art studio to a culinary challenge, sports, and free play on the 4-square court, playground, or gaga pit. For those who love a quieter pace, there’s time for reading and relaxing in the library, challenging friends to board games or chess, or getting hands-on with building projects using LEGOs and KEVA planks. Whether folding intricate origami creations or racing down the water slide, campers end each day with smiles, new friendships, and memories that last long after summer ends. Options include:
